Natural Resources II

Forest and Conservation Technicians
Provide technical support for conserving soil, water, forests, and natural resources. Collect data on forest tracts, assist foresters, and train workers in forest management and fire prevention. Help conservation scientists protect and improve rangelands and wildlife habitats.
Forest and Conservation Workers
Perform manual labor to develop, maintain, and protect forests, wetlands, and rangelands. Tasks include raising and transporting seedlings, controlling pests and diseases, and building structures for water and soil conservation. Roles include forester aides, tree planters, and nontimber product gatherers.
First-Line Supervisors of Farming, Fishing, and Forestry Workers
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of agricultural, forestry, aquacultural, and related workers.

David Tinker
Natural Resources, Natural Resources 2
With over 34 years of teaching experience at Corning High School, he has taught Physical Science, Life Science, Earth Science, Biology, and Natural Resources I & II. A dedicated educator and mentor, he serves as the FFA Forestry Team Advisor. Beyond the classroom, he has over 20 years of experience as a California Licensed Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitator and has held leadership roles in the Chico Audubon Society and local youth sports programs. Passionate about life, health, and nature, he inspires students to explore and appreciate the natural world.
